Who we are
Mumble (the website at mumblewords.com, the web app, and Mumble for Chrome) is provided by Mumble Words (“we”, “us”). When you use Mumble, you are entering into an agreement with Mumble Words.
Accepting these terms
By creating an account or continuing to use Mumble, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Mumble. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and if you use Mumble for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
The service
Mumble turns your speech into text notes, keeps them in your private History, and offers optional AI features that tidy, summarise, list key events, group by topic or expand your notes. Some features need a paid membership or active trial; others work free with your own AI provider key.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details confidential and give accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been accessed without permission.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse Mumble. In particular, you must not:
- use it for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or to send spam;
- infringe anyone’s intellectual property or privacy, including recording people without the consent the law requires;
- upload or generate illegal content, hate speech, harassment, deceptive impersonation or deepfakes, or malware;
- try to bypass limits or safety measures in the AI features (“jailbreaking”);
- interfere with Mumble’s security or operation, including probing, scanning, scraping, or overloading it;
- reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute Mumble, or get around its technical or plan limits.
Your content and AI features
Your notes are yours. You give us a limited permission to store and process them only to provide Mumble to you (for example, syncing them and sending text to the AI or speech provider you use). You are responsible for what you dictate and ask the AI to do, for having the rights to that content, and for how you use the results.
AI output and speech recognition can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check results before relying on them, and don’t use them as a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial or other regulated advice without human review.
We may remove or restrict content, decline or filter AI requests, or suspend accounts that break these terms. If you believe content processed through Mumble infringes your rights, email support@mumblewords.com; we’ll review it and may suspend accounts that repeatedly infringe.
Our intellectual property
Mumble Words owns Mumble, including its software, design, documentation and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Mumble within your plan while these terms apply.
Payments and subscriptions
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Memberships are $4 per month or $36 per year and renew automatically until you cancel. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund terms are set out in Paddle’s Buyer Terms. You can cancel any time from your Membership page; access continues until the end of the paid period. See our refund policy.
Availability
We work to keep Mumble running well, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may change over time. To the fullest extent the law allows, Mumble is provided “as is”, without implied warranties such as merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, don’t pay, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously break our policies. You can stop using Mumble and ask us to delete your account at any time. When an account is closed, its notes are deleted; you can copy them out of History before then.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Mumble Words is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, data or goodwill, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. You agree to cover claims against us arising from your content, unlawful use, or breach of these terms.
General
We aren’t responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. You may not transfer your account without our consent; we may transfer these terms as part of a merger or sale of the business. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in New York, unless the law where you live gives you other rights.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, let members know. Questions: support@mumblewords.com.
